American Warehouse Index

Shippers and warehouses still can’t find each other.

Buyers spend days cold-calling to confirm a fit. Capable warehouses sit unseen when they could be earning. American Warehouse Index is the directory that closes that gap — built for the way search works now.

Operators: List your warehouse

$25 per listing per month. Ten minutes to publish. No commission, no per-lead fees.

A matching problem, on both sides.

A shipper who needs FDA-registered cold storage with pick-and-pack in a particular market Googles it, opens a dozen tabs, and starts cold-calling to confirm what each facility actually does. Most of those calls end in “not a fit.”

Meanwhile the warehouse that is the fit — the right certifications, the right space open right now — never surfaces, because nothing on its website says so in a way a person (or a browser search agent) can quickly read.

And the search itself is moving. Buyers increasingly ask ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity first, and even a Google search now leads with an AI overview. Those tools read structured data, not website copy — and most warehouse sites can’t be read that way effectively.

What we built

A directory that matches on what actually matters.

American Warehouse Index lists warehouses by what they really do — storage types, certifications, services, available capacity — and publishes it so both people and AI search can read it.

If you’re sourcing space

Filter on real capability and see only the facilities that fit. The wrong-fit calls never have to get made — and AI assistants can surface the same matches when you ask them.

If you run a warehouse

You’re found on the specifics that set your facility apart, so the inquiries that reach you already fit — the call starts at volumes and timelines.

Behind every listing is structured data that stays current — you update a field, and what search engines and AI assistants read updates with it. See how it works for operators →

How it works

How a warehouse becomes findable.

Most warehouse websites never state the clear height, the certifications, or what’s open right now — not anywhere a search engine or an AI assistant can read them. Three steps close that gap, and you only do the first one.

  1. You fill in the form, once

Square footage, clear height, dock doors, certifications, temperature ranges, services. The things a buyer would otherwise have to phone you to find out. Eight fields get you published; the rest you can add whenever.

  2. We publish it as facts, not paragraphs

Your listing becomes a permanent public page and a set of machine-readable specifications underneath it. You never write that part, and it changes the moment you change a field — so it cannot go stale the way markup on your own site does.

  3. Search engines and AI assistants can read it

They crawl on their own schedule and we do not control what they do with it. What we can say is that your specifications are published in the form these tools read, rather than buried in copy they have to interpret.

American Warehouse Index is new — we’re adding facilities week by week. Every listing is public on americanwarehouseindex.com and structured so search engines and AI assistants — Google, Bing, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity — can find and read it. No login wall.

Start with a ZIP, city, or state. The directory is new — we’re adding facilities week by week.

For warehouse operators

Publish your warehouse in about ten minutes.

You fill out a structured listing once. We publish it so the right shippers — and the AI tools they search with — find you on the specifics that set your facility apart.

Eight fields get you published. Set aside an hour with your building specs to get listed thoroughly — or start with the basics and add the rest whenever you like.

  • Pre-qualified inquiries reach you directly — no middleman, no lead resale
  • No commission and no per-lead fees
  • Buyers can filter for exactly what your building does before they ever pick up the phone

Searching and browsing the directory is always free for everyone. Listing a facility is the only paid part.
